Dumfries and Galloway is one of the least known but most varied of Scotland's regions.

This beautiful corner of South West Scotland often gets missed by visitors speeding on their way to the highlands or Edinburgh but for those who have discovered it, D&G has an astonishing amount to offer.

White sand beaches, verdant river valleys, forests, moorlands and mountains...and abundant wildlife: all abound in this secret corner of Scotland. A haven for artists, writers, walkers and cyclists, it is important for farming and forestry, its university and college campuses and a wealth of small rural enterprises. Perhaps the most characteristic sector is that of fine foods, for there are many small food producers offering premium quality specialist foods, which in turn literally feed the excellent hospitality offered by the region.
